Jessica Rayford Anderson is a dedicated Sports Medicine professional with over 15 years of experience in athletic training, health education, and sports management. As the owner of The Athletic Training Room in New Rochelle, NY, she has built a dynamic space that serves athletes of all levels, offering expert care, rehabilitation, and performance training.

A Westchester community member, Jessica is not only an experienced athletic trainer but also a mother to two children, DJ and Jules. Her ability to balance leadership, innovation, and compassionate care has made her a trusted figure in the field. She has worked extensively in collegiate and secondary school settings, serving as an athletic trainer, adjunct professor, and department coordinator. She has played a pivotal role in hiring and mentoring athletic trainers, collaborating with physicians, and implementing injury prevention and rehabilitation programs.

Beyond clinical practice, Jessica is a passionate educator, having designed and taught courses in athletic training, emergency response, and injury prevention at institutions such as City College of New York, Union College, and Long Island University-Brooklyn.

Jessica holds a Master of Arts in Health Education from Union College and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of West Florida. She is certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, licensed in New York State, and a certified American Red Cross instructor.

Her commitment to athlete well-being, education, and innovation in sports medicine continues to shape the future of athletic training in her community and beyond.


Dr. Yasmin Dhar specializes in the prevention and treatment of sports-related injuries. Fellowship-trained in Sports Medicine, Dr. Dhar has advanced training in both arthroscopic and open procedures of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee joints. She specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of ligamentous knee injuries with a special interest in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in the athlete. Her expertise also includes the treatment of rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, elbow and hip disorders, and meniscal injuries. Dr. Dhar has a particular interest in cartilage restoration and joint preservation procedures including autologous cartilage implantation (ACI), DeNovo, BioCartilage, MACI and osteochondral transplantation.

 An avid athlete herself, Dr. Dhar understands the demands athletes place upon their bodies and works to help them recover from injury in a safe and efficient manner.  She treats patients of all ages and abilities, from professional athletes to eager novices. Dr. Dhar focuses on each patient as an individual, formulating a comprehensive treatment plan, utilizing conservative modalities, and when indicated, surgical intervention, that works best for lifestyle and athletic goals.

 Dr. Dhar is Board-Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery with a Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.  She and the physicians of Specialty Orthopaedics in Harrison New York provide comprehensive treatment of musculoskeletal disorders in a caring and responsive clinical atmosphere.  She currently serves as an Associate Master Instructor for the Arthroscopy Association of North America, an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at New York Medical College/Westchester Medical Center, the Orthopaedic Site Director for the Burke Rehabilitation Sports Medicine Fellowship, an affiliate physician for the LPGA tour and the team physician for Monroe College, Rye Country Day School, School of the Holy Child in Rye and a number of other regional schools and colleges.  She is the Chief Medical Officer of the The Athletic Training Room, PLLC assisting with developing protocols focusing on the the prevention, management, and treatment of athletic injuries.

Bram Newman, MD, CAQSM, DipABLM, FAAPMR

Chief Medical Director - Sports Medicine

Dr. Bram Newman is a Sports Medicine Physiatrist with extensive expertise in the management of sports, orthopedic, and musculoskeletal injuries. He is skilled in diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided procedures, including steroid, hyaluronic acid, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections.

Deeply passionate about athletic training and athlete development, Dr. Newman is committed to optimizing performance, preventing injury, and guiding patients of all activity levels back to the sports and movement they love. His collaborative approach integrates evidence-based sports medicine with a strong appreciation for the science and discipline of athletic training.

In his role as the Coordinator and Director of an orthopedic residency program within a major hospital system, Dr. Newman leads the educational and clinical development of future physicians. He designs training curricula, mentors residents, and fosters an environment of clinical excellence, ensuring the next generation of specialists is well-equipped to deliver high-quality musculoskeletal care.

He is also passionate about adaptive sports, supporting accessible physical activity and athletic opportunities for individuals of all abilities.

"Rebecca Andersen, MS, LAT, ATC, is a licensed athletic trainer who’s passionate about creating positive, organized, and athlete-centered experiences both on and off the field. She currently works as the College Experience and Per-Diem Coordinator at The Athletic Training Room, where she supports athletes through medical onboarding, manages scheduling operations, and helps strengthen connections with partner schools and organizations.

Before moving into her current role, Rebecca spent two years as an athletic trainer at the United States Military Academy at West Point, working closely with Division I athletes in track & field, cross country, rifle, and soccer. She brings a strong clinical foundation, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine commitment to helping athletes feel supported, confident, and prepared.

Rebecca holds both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from West Chester University and stays active in continuing education and professional development. She’s driven by teamwork, communication, and making processes smoother for athletes, staff, and partners alike."
